Day 6: Ascending Loop

This loop was challenging, but it was also a lot of fun to practice. At the beginning of the exercise, I noticed my hand was still trying to figure out the movement. The Ascending Loop is one of the larger strokes compared to some of the previous drills we’ve practiced. For me, that actually made it a little easier to understand the movement because I had more space to focus on the shape and the flow of the stroke. It helped me slow down, pay attention to my pressure, and focus on creating a smoother motion rather than rushing through it.

Of course, there were mistakes. There were uneven lines, loops that weren’t quite the right shape, and strokes that didn’t come out the way I imagined. But that’s part of learning something completely new. I’m only on day six, and I’m reminding myself that every shaky line and imperfect stroke is part of building muscle memory.

So far, this journey has been such a positive experience. I’m excited to continue learning from Becca, my instructor, over the next three weeks and see how much progress I can make with each new lesson.
